Exciting times for Canoeing

Post by FullGnarlzOC »

With the new material that has been developed by manufacturers and new designs coming out, it is certainly an exciting time for canoeing. Would not have happened if it weren't for growth of sport. Silverbirch Canoes in the UK is currently working on two new designs to hit the market in 2017.

The new Covert 10.5 Tandem entered production for the first time today after a long prototyping process.

Then you have Silverbirch's take on a modern day Ocoee/Viper 11 - what they are calling 'The Rebel'. SB will be bringing a couple of these over for ALF this year to get valuable input from US paddlers. This is a design that they are getting rather excited about.

Gotta love it!!

Every few years we seem to have a period of no new designs, a few companies stop making OC1's, and some new folks step in with new designs / ideas / energy.

It's nice to see so much passion globally for whitewater canoeing:)

And it's nice to have some new designs appearing again!
Keep the C!

Paul, if you wish to give SB canoes a try at ALF, you will first have to ATTEND ALF.

Just sayin'.......
