Esquif Extasy! New model!
Hey folks,
I have the pleasure to present the new Extasy to you!
https://teamesquifinternational.wordpre ... he-extasy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.esquif.com/en/whitewater/extasy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's a creeker and riverrunner for smaller people with enhanced driving dynamics to adapt to people with less strength. The ergonomics also are adapted to shorter physiques.
I'm trying to hold back from singing this boats praise too much. However, I am sooo happy that there finally is a boat that fits small persons.
And oh dear lord, it feels so magic on the water. I'm in love!
Designated paddlers are 5ft 6 and smaller and 155 lbs and lighter. We found now that it also handles 80 kg (175 lbs????) nicely.
Availability: in Europe in July, we're working hard to make a small number available in the states soon!

Golly -- not in Canada? I had this weird notion that Esquif was a Canadian company!insolence wrote: . . . we're working hard to make a small number available in the states soon!

Re: Esquif Extasy! New model!
Congrats! I look forward to seeing them on the river (especially as I DO plan on having a CBoats Armada next spring:) ). It will be great to have a boat for lighter folks - only so many Phantom's still out there, and though the Splash is a great boat I think it tops out at 115 or 120 lbs (though I've paddled it at 175 for amusements sake).
Can you give us further detail on the construction (rotomolded I assume? What plastic?).
Nothing wrong with an "international" boat, especially if it helps keep Esquif in business:)

Re: Esquif Extasy! New model!
Nope, not only Canada The headquarters of Esquif are in Quebec/Canada, thats also where the TFormex is made. The l'Edge is rotomoulded at Liquidlogic in the USA
The Extasy is rotomoulded PE with integrated gunwales, rotomoulded in Germany!
Since I am not only the designer,but overall engineer and "project manager", it was easier to have a manufacturer in Germany where I am currently located. This allowed for a closer collaboration on how things should work. The rotomoulder we work with has a long history in rotomoulding boats. I just am not allowed to name them. A non disclosure agreement was signed. Both them and me also work in automotive, which is a highly sensitive field

Sabrina, please forgive my hint of sarcasm (and frustration) in my first post.insolence wrote: we're working hard to make a small number available in the states soon!
We're all excited about the Extasy, and grateful to you for your part in its design and production.
The concern I'm expressing, and the question I'm asking, is that you mentioned that the boat will be available in the states. There was no mention of availability in Canada.
Will Canada be included in your distribution plans, or will Canadians be left out?
Thanks

Yes, in Augsburg at the whitewater course.
There is also a test boat in Versam, Switzerland (James Weir has it)

Re: Esquif Extasy! New model!
Just wondering how Extasy is for lighter but taller paddlers?
I know it is designed for smaller paddlers as in shorter and lighter paddlers.

Re: Esquif Extasy! New model!
depends on how tall......and how you deal with it.
Mechanics are what they are, with taller people having more leverage even if they're lightweight. It might feel less stable, but in the end, the only one who will be able to tell will be you
We have the first batch on their way to the Americas, so I guess in two months or so, there should be a chance to test it overseas!
It seems surprising, but it was a huge deal to find an affordable way to get them over
