Paddling Magazine article

I'm humbled by the article and comments in this issue! I enjoyed talking to Ian and discussing the collection as well as CBoats.net, but unfortunately some of the folks we chatted about who are integral to getting CBoats.net to where it is were left out of the article (there is only so much space, but I want to be sure the kudos are shared!) - moderators PAC, SBroam, MikeW, KNeal, TheKrickettWars, as well as Randy, PaddlePower, and Mangobait who helped port all the posts over initially.

Hopefully when all the social distancing is over we'll share an eddy somewhere :)

I look forward to to reading it. The magazine is on my coffee table.

Thank you for the kudos. That was a longtime ago that I helped port those posts over.

It was, and helped make this the great repository of knowledge it is.

Thanks again:)

I read “The Collector” article with a cup of tea in hand.

Hats off to author Ian and the Paddling Mag team of Rapid Media.

It was well balanced, C boats, history, the collection physical and virtual, community, pivotal events, key players, and current place in relation to newer platforms technologies.

CBoats is a small community. Nice to get public recognition. Tons of work behind the scenes. It’s fantastic to read about the value created.

Anyone else wondering about the seemingly disjointed text layout and the exorbitant and extraneous white space?

Adam, is your list of hulls you are looking for public?

A few folks know, mostly I just watch the for sale boards:)

The one boat I'd really like to find is an Aerobat, as it is interesting to see the progression ending in the Acrobat that so many of us like.

Other boats include a Meltdown (UK boat, not sure I'll ever find one), a Shaggy Jedi, and at least one of the Noah "Atlantis" series.

I try to "limit" myself to boats that 10 or more have been made of (as such the Oxygen counts, but really the Mentor, Maven, and Ceemweaver don't, at least at this point).

I thought Ian did a fantastic job pulling all my ramblings together - he and I chatted quite a few times about a variety of C-related subjects.

Adam -- well deserved recognition. I enjoyed the article immensely.

Your point about Facebook supplanting the forum is, sadly, accurate -- I haven't been as active as I once was on the forum. It's easier for Facebook pages to serve 'local' communities, and one tends to use Facebook as a way to maintain contact with individual friends, as well as communities, all within one platform.

But as a source for information about boats -- old and new -- the forum is still unsurpassed. The ability to search for specific information is something I still value and use.

Long may the forum continue!
