Can anyone ID this slalom C1?

I just bought this New Wave C1 and was wondering if anyone knows what it is. It has a sticker on it from '93 Nationals, so it had to have been made '93 or earlier. The build card is illegible. Thanks!

Hey Paul! I started a thread on this boat a couple of weeks ago when I was thinking of getting it. Replies are mixed.

Let me know how it handles. Looks like it's in great condition.

Hi ML,

Yeah, it's in good shape, no soft spots. I'm working on sprucing it up and outfitting it to fit me now. I saw your thread. I was hoping someone would positively know what it is with the extra pictures. Fingers crossed!

It is a Batmax of some sort. There were several versions. The original came out in 1982 and the Super Batmax in 1986. At least one more version since then, maybe two. This looks like a Super but it could be a later version; I have no way of telling. I've been pretty much out of contact with boating since the early 1990s. Roy Hunter sent me the link to this topic and wondered if I could ID it. Just my best guess.

Hi John,
Thanks so much! I asked Davey also. He originally thought Fanatic but then decided it looked more like an ExtraBat, which is totally in line with what you’re saying. At any rate, it’s a fun boat.
Best, Paul

I had forgotten about the Extrabat. I think that's the next generation after the Super. I have a mold for the Super that I would love to sell but I never molded the Extra. Davey would obviously be a better authority than I am for these designs. Best of luck. JRS
