I never really did righting pries in the open boat early on. I switched to C-1 and started doing stern squirts (off of a stern pry mainly) and discovered that a stern squirt type move would often save me from a flip (and often look cool
). When I started OC-1ing a bit again, I would forget what boat I was in and reach back for a stern pry when I was about to flip like that to my offside - the first couple of times hurt! You just can't sink the stern of a Mohawk Viper like that... Now I say "yeah, I meant to do that - it was a righting pry"!
