Heck of a moving strainer to find on the river at the beginning of the video. I wonder what the guy at 1:48 was thinking? And 2:52 gives new meaning to the phrase, "rock splat" :o .

Boaters taking really gnarly runs, lots of carnage, lots of swims, and plenty of video to capture it all. Hmmm. Russian boaters or American boaters? Can anyone tell the difference?

That's how we like C-boaters: running the big stuff out wild, and why not using weird boats while you're at it?

I think we also just saw a dream shuttle truck there didn't we?

I remeber seeing some old, old school video on these boats. Completely home made from scrounged parts! You can see from of the other gear that is still the case. Pretty impressive when you think about it in terms of the access issues they have.

I too love that truck :) but I'm betting the mpl sux! :-?

I've actually used that kind of boat... they're very stable with a half ton of gear on the top! You're strapped down to a saddle OC-1 style, so you get the stability of a raft (plus some) but you're not going to get ejected. These people seem to have found the limit of those boats though!

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that those boats do occasionally end rapids upright and they just didn't think that was video worthy.
