If you look you can see that it is a borrowed boat. You can see the NCOBS (Outward Bound) logo on the boat.

Dunno if Wes works for NCOBS or not, but in the comments on the video, he thanks two people from NCOBS for sponsoring him. Probably their logo in return for the sponsorship, not a borrowed boat. If it is borrowed, I think he's in trouble now that the video is on the internet. "Hey, can I borrow the Detonator? I was going to, umm, go paddle the, uhh, river with some friends. Yeah, friends."
