Post by Mr Marc »

Hi, here are a four videos of my spring paddling around Quebec City.

The video called "hommage à Philippe" is to honor a 19 years old paddler who died on a river three weeks ago.

He tried a stop behind a rock, he got caught in an hydrolic , he tried to roll and came out of the boat. He has been recycled for about a minute. When he came out, he was uncouncious. They tried CPR on him but it did not work.

The rapid is usualy recognise as a class 2-3.

That is all I know about the accident. I think there must be an investigation going on.

I had a chance to paddle two or three times with him and he was in control in a class 4.

It is the first time in 42 years that an accident like that happens in my canoe club.

How incredibly tragic. I'm terribly sorry for the victim, his family and your club.

Marc, we all heard here in mtrl about the accident and it is such a shock for everybody. We also never had a tragedy like that in our club for 50 years.

Best wishes to everybody who knew Philippe and keep on paddling safely everyone!
Watch out; that river has rocks on the bottom. :o
