Middle Fork-Main Salmon Extravaganza

I've just posted on YouTube a video of my trip this summer down the Salmon River's Middle Fork and Main section, a continuous run of about 190 miles. For the Middle Fork, we had three tandems (all Dagger Dimensions), one solo canoe (me in a Dagger Genesis), and a kayaker and IKer. At the put-in for the Main, we picked up another tandem team in a Dagger Dimension (entering the fourth dimension here) and a raft. River level at the put-in for the Middle Fork was 2.1 feet (about 900 cfs). The runs goes from technical to big water. By the time we're on the Main, the level is a bit over 5,000 cfs.

Both Tappan and Tappan 3 are in there. You might be talking about Tappan 3 because it a giant rock in the middle. In my video, Tappan is around 3:14 and I show two tandems--one red and one green--running that. Tappan 3 is run by the IK and the solo (around 3:28).
Gorgeous

Beautiful looking run. Long trips with loaded canoes are always awesome.

that right there (tandem tripping) is the reason I got into canoeing.
