... a bulkhead without straps in their OC??
And more importantly can you roll it in anger?
I saw Kelvin without, and like the facility of hoping in and out of the boat but I seem totally incompetent at rolling my lude when it counts!
I can't set up fast enough, then my bums slips out and I find myself too High (or low underwater) to roll efficiently.
I also liked to be strap free because it allowed me more movement in the boat on shifting bum across as and when required.
My outfitting is the slightly tweaked but bog standard pyrahna.
I have no video...I ain't good enough to get filmed

I've made an effort to do just that in my Fly. The last half dozen times out I've gone strap free - that's play sessions working on enders with repeated rolls, river running, and mild creeking. The secret was to get it tight. Mine has the Pyranha outfitting and the thigh hooks are not glued but just held in with friction and the thwart - I've been using foam to adjust/wedge them in just so. It's been working - 100% on 20+ rolls. Before that I was about 50/50 w/o straps (80-90% with).

Agree, used to have the same problem in my prelude too. Bulkhead are great but to roll efficiently you need a very good fit, which you have to work on, carving or adding foam until you're good. Specific for each person's physiology and can also change with the clothes you put on. You would be really lucky to grab a boat that fits you perfectly right off the bat...
Myself I just like the bulkhead + strap system now; more adjustable and I find easier to rotate my torso on some moves. But it's true ease of wet exit can suffer depending on how you set them up.

i employ the thigh master affect. Whereby in my bulkhead I squeeze the living crap out of it when I need to stay tight in the boat. If i'm upside down, squeeze squeeze squeeze, roll, if rolling fails, when you're to swim just relax and you'll pop right out.
I've tweaked my outfitting so much in the Prelude that is shallow or weird conditions, its not always easy to actually get out. So I shaved it down and now i'm in and out quickly everytime, but I employ the squeeze.

That guy Phill, yeah the fur trapper, who seal launched off pillow then rolls up before vw rock only uses a bulked in his outrage. It seems pretty tight to me.

i like a lap belt, i also have a bulkhead of sorts. the belt provides more control for me. i can't paddle w/ out a belt anymore, i fall out... the squeeze is a good idea of course, but belts give u more control in turning... ect... mine is tight, and i can get out reasonably fast.
