Very nice! Looks like a fun run and you're styling it in that blue cutie. Boofing your way pretty smooth.

Oh and thanks for the swim at the end. I would have been SOO jealous of a perfect OC1 run. Let's keep them for the professional boaters.
Watch out; that river has rocks on the bottom. :o

But you didn't advertise your Moxie Creek vid! I liked that one too. :)

What is a day of boating with out a swim? That hole was not NEARLY as sticky last time I was there!

Moxie is also a good steep run, especially if your friends don't convince you to paddle the miles upon miles of flat water between the lake and the rapids... and don't get recirculated in the hole at Double Hammer (10 yards above the entrance to the highest [unrunnable] waterfall in maine, Moxie Falls at 90ish feet) and get your boat stuck in it for 20 minutes...

But that's another video.

Very cool run and video. Wish someone else had shot some video so we could see some of your runs from a perspective other than the helmet cam. What did you think of the Option?

I loved the Option. It is a definite confidence boost over my prelude on runs like that.... The stability, predictable nature and how easy it is to roll really make things much less intimidating. Some of the drops I ran in that video I didn't quite have the confidence in my Prelude to run, of course I was also with a virtual super-group of boaters on this particular day!

I'm going to write a full review of the Option when I've got a little more time in it. And when there isn't so much boating to be done....

My buddy made this video of the same run, and there are a couple shots of me from his helmet cam. Not much, but better than nothing. You can see me catch massive air off the big boof if you squint! 8)

I can never tell in video whether a run is within my comfort level or not, but I'd really like to believe that ones is, because it's a very cool looking bit of river!

Nice to get a good look a the Option too, and see the positive review relative to the Prelude. Interesting, though I'm guessing you're not 220lbs.

Thanks for the vid.

Pat.

I'd call Sandy a IV/IV+ run with a couple of V/V+s (which I walked) that mean business. One is the huge slide, one is Cat and Mouse which is in a mini gorge and has a sieve, and one is a monstrosity of a drop/slide thing that I've never seen anyone run in person.

I figure I'm comfortable on it, it is class IVish. The gopro does make things look kind of "flattened" though! That boof is about 8-10 feet, the big drop that runs out on to rock is about 12ish.... Guess you all will just have to come paddle it for your selves!

^Once again my open invitation for any open boaters to come to Maine!

All great stuff. Good paddling as well as good filming.
