Bull Run and Sandy Rivers in Oregon
We have a great run near Portland that starts on the Bull Run River (Portland's water supply, though the water for the city is removed before where we put in to paddle). After about 1.5 miles, the Bull Run merges into the Sandy River for another 8 miles of fun. You go from creeky to full-on river. It's pretty much class 3 action on the Bull Run, then mostly 2+ on the Sandy. http://youtu.be/8WhQpV4gYA0

We're lucky--Portland, Oregon is a four-seasons paddling mecca. Right now we're entering the rainy season when old favorites become runnable again. We have a number of coastal runs that are rain dependent, as well as many in the Willamette Valley. Meanwhile, in the mountains, snow is falling and depositing in the "bank" next year's water for summer runs.
