have deep scraped areas in vinyl in an old dagger legend. suggestions for repair of the scratches and gunwales in the knoxville area?

For gouges and scrapes in the vinyl layer, I just clean with 99% rubbing alcohol and then fill/cover with G/flex. The goal is simply to protect the ABS layer with a layer of something. G/flex holds really well, is clear, and takes a beating. I used to use JB Weld, which also works well, but makes grey splotches all over your hull wherever you patch it.
