My name is Bill Reap. As some of you know I will be a US Dealer for Drakkar. http://www.backwashkayaks.com/drakkar/index.html I will be placing my first order 1/27/05 and it should arrive by 3/15/05. Because my ordering frequency will be somewhat limited I want to maximize the ability to get what is wanted to the US now. I will have at my home for demo in Charlotte, NC 1 wheelboy, a skirt and a paddle. I will also show pics of my converted s8 when it is done.
Price list.
Wheelboy $1100.00 -delivery approx $60.00 continental US
C1 Conversion seat $ 225.00 -Plus $15 continental US S/H
Drakkar Paddle $ 225.00 -Plus $15 continental US S/H
C1 Spraydeck $ 150.00 No shipping w boat - Add $10 con. US w/o boat
Boat colors:
red, yellow and green.
Skirt sizes:
S (26-30" 60-70cm)
M (30-34" 70-80cm)
L (34-36" 80-90cm)
Please contact me by January 25 to add your order. I will stock a limited number of boats, skirts, paddles and conversion kits, and will only order accessories when I place a new boat order. First come first served on any item not ordered ahead of time. The address listed is my home. This will be a very small home based business, but since it is home based I wanted to share who I am with you. Please use email to reach, typically I will respond to emails nightly.
Unfortunately, NC residence need to add sales tax.
Happy Paddling. Look forward to hearing from everyone.

awesome! i'm thrilled to see bill taking this on for the southeast. way to go! from the email contacts i've had with bill over the past year he has always been a pleasure to deal with - very cordial.
i'm looking forward to marko coming out with the river running/ creek boat (fatboy?). there are a lot of great kayak hull designs available for conversion, but very few that are big guy friendly.
bill posted the tunnel sizes for the skirts that will be available for the drakkar boats. are there any plans to produce skirts with larger tunnels?
thanks to marko, bill, kaz & others involved in keeping c-boating alive & well.

Sizes
HI
The deck sizes are general guidelines only and the large model is pretty large, the neoprene is really stretchy. In my life I have seen only one person use XL sixe skirt.
We can have the skirt in any size. xs or xxxxl.... bu it will take little time. This is a custom made skirt and we do small runs anyway.
Order can be passed through your local dealer or directly.

Hey Trevor,
You can be one of the first to try a fatboy-its a little more my size too.
For skirt sizing, I prefer mine a little tighter. I have a 37" waist and my stomach is 41", but I use a large tube skirt. I have an XL tube Kayak skirt, but it's loose -it doesn't fall down but if I didn't have a drytop on water would pour in. I'll get at least one XL tube skirt when available.
I'm hoping to paddle this Sunday with David, if you want to join, but my wife might have to work. Thanks for plug- hope to meet you soon.

Demo question
Bill, Will you be any closer to Alabama anytime soon or in spring-like at least the Nanty to demo the boat?

Hi Wendy,
I can definately bring the Wheelboy to the Nanty this Spring. Did you have a Prelude? (I hope I'm not confusing you with someone else) My friend David really wants to try one, maybe we could have a boat trading day . I should have the boats, I hope by mid march, the order is being placed next Thursday.
Anyone who wants to demo the boat can email me- I will be able to meet on Class II-III rivers within 3 hours of Charlotte easily and within four hours on occasion. 2-3 times a year I travel 5-6 hours away for a weekend paddling trip. My wife has asked that I not travel all over the country now, which I agreed to. I will only go on a few extended trips a year as I did before becoming a dealer, but let me know where you are and I'll keep it in mind and notify you if I'm in the area.
IMPORTANT
I'm not sure if I'm posting too much about my business, but to keep from doing that please email me about demos or with wheelboy questions at billcanoes@yahoo.com or send me a pm through cboats. I really enjoy cboats and dont want to abuse my welcome in terms of my business side. I hope everyone can appreciate my concern.

bill,
let me know whenever you get more details on the fatboy. i'm thrilled that marko decided to name a boat after me i look forward to demoing one when they're finished.
if you ever plan to head to the raleigh area to demo boats, let me know. i'd be glad to help with the logistics around the haw river.
good to hear from you.

names of the kayaks
I'm sorry Trevor fatboy is not named after you
all my c-1 desings are named boys because it takes some really shitty work to get a boat to ready for production. When the boat is finished it is like you own son ... you have to put so much in it.
FATBOY is pretty big so it might have some similar features to you...

Demo and Prelude
I do have a Prelude- the original from Motion Adventures. I would be happy to trade for a day on the Nanty. It has a MIke Yee set up. Let me know when you plan a Nanty trip.
Thanks for bringing us a Southern dealer!!

marko,
all of that hard work is definitely appreciated. how long do you estimate before the fatboy gets close to production? is this going to be strictly a creeker, or will it have a design that makes it a good river runner as well?
i'm not a playboater, so i lean more towards converting boats that are creekers or river runners by design. most of those designs are not designed well for a larger boater. often the cockpit rims are too narrow, or too low & dig into the legs. i'm real excited about your new boats & that i'll have a rep within a two hour drive.

I knov Americans are large. Get in the WB and see you are comfy. If not let me know how many more centimeters you need ...
I can make it larger a bit. but you should fit as it is.
