"Peter Patasi" carbon shaft

Post by yarnellboat »

Who is Peter Patasi, and why should I care if his name is on a carbon shaft?

I just picked up a used Sawyer Stingray "with Petter Patasi carbon shaft!".

Thanks, Pat.

Peter makes custom shafts from the Ottawa area. I used them for a few years but ended up snapping 3 shafts, 2 when doing a righting pry and 1 when rolling. I now use the Gallasport shaft!!

Thanks. I Googled him and found his company that makes racing paddles and shafts.

They make "100% carbon graphite fibres" sound pretty good. But 3 snapped shafts isn't a great endorsement. Oh well, at least you liked them enough to go back twice :D

Anyway, my "righting prys" barely ever catch water and my rolling, if I remember, doesn't exactly seem like it's about to snap anything, so I should be OK.

Pat.
