paddling a flooded canoe is easy. stopping is easy as long as you have some kayaks to help you stop.

Earth Day USA

Post by dixie_boater »

Grinner,

In 1970 Senator Gaylord Nelson started Earth Day in the US for the purpose of teaching stewardship of the Earth to all Americans. He saw the need to teach the importance of saving the environment for future generations at a time when pollution had become commonplace in America.

Michael

( had to edit my previous post because it was incorrect. Nixon was president in 1970, but he is not responsible for April 22nd being Earth Day.)
