I read the review of the Esquif Spark in the recent Rapid Mag. Sounds really fast!
I would like to hear from anyone who has paddled one - your thoughts about how Sparky handles etc, etc, etc.
Is it true that the camouflage color makes it go faster?
Just tell me all about it please.
Thanks in adance.

Spark
If it's one of Kaz' boats I'm sure it is fast. My friend, has a defiant, which is extremely stable and fast and light. The Spark is a royalex version of one of Kaz' other racing designs.
I haven't seen one on the river yet though, just at NOC.

I paddled the Spark at last years nationals and really liked it. It is fast and turns almost as well as my Ocoee. The royalite with wood gunnels makes for a very light plastic boat. I own one of Kaz's Defiants and I think the Spark was lighter. I believe my Defiant IS a cruising layup, though. Also a great boat by the way... My next boat will be either a Spark or a Rumba. I did not get to PLAY in the Spark but my thoughts on that are that it would be fun to front surf but would not do so well with 360 spins or back surfing which is something I love doing in the Ocoee. The Spark needs to be paddled aggressively without a lot of corrective strokes behind you. Go for it!
