Fools rush in. Almost all the hardware is mounted on PVC angle glued to the hull. Seems to work well - so far.

The seat is my own design - same as I use in my C1 and OC1 Short race boat. I'd hate to tell you how much the materials in the seat cost - there are about 6 layers of Graphite and 3 layers of Kevlar in it. I use a male/female compression mold techniique so the seat still doesn't weigh much. I just loaned the mold out to some guy named McEwan for his C2 'cause I don't have the time to make the seats myself. Maybe after the Nats...
For glue, I use a combination of VC-2 commercial vinyl cement and the standard vinyl adhesive I got with the D-ring pads. I also cleaned and sanded everything before the glue. I was a little afraid of how the PVC would bond because it didn't seem to soften like the skin on the boat, so I tried a test piece first. The bond is almost as strong as the material itself.
Gotta go and test the boat some more now.
