New C-Boater born on Upper Yough yesterday.

My son has been struggling with a Kayak for a few years now to no avail. He is long and lanky and does not like his legs trapped inside the boat. He is taking some lessons at Precision in Friendsville, MD and they fitted him into an old Dagger Cascade. HE LOVES IT!

Now the problem, them boats are hard to find! I have 2 old Slalom C-1's and a prototype Acrobat which would be totally unsuitable for a beginner.

Does anyone know where I could find an old:
Dagger Cascade or Atom
Perception Gyramax

or would a new Finkenmeister work?

or ??

Been lurking for a long time and I could really use some help.

Also, I have a Noah C1 (aeroquatic factory converted to a C1) that I'd be willing to sell cheapish. It rolls easily, surfs nice, and is around 10' long. Not a real "play boat" by today's standards, but a good boat to learn in. the only issue being it's purple / pinkish color....

Sure, let's turn the way back machine to about 1988. I am just another Bethesda, MD, C-Boater enjoying the Potomac in the shadows of legends and wanting to get into the squirt boat revolution my friends are enjoying in their Kayaks, problem is I paddle a C1. I hear Andy Bridge has a squirt C1 that he is working on and I ask to try it out for a couple days. No problem. I like it! Alot! Tons more fun then a backyard converted Cudamax/Batmax/SuperBat. I immediately sign up and get one built for me,Vacumbagged Spectra, S-Glass, etc. I had I cut down more for me in the stern while keeping the same volume as his, which was really low, in the bow.

Upon reviewing your database on C1 Rec Boats I would say the boat is a lower volume version of the Edge. The boat is based on the Batmax and I kept the Wings 'cause their COOL! And because I knew how to use them from slalom boats. But mostly cause they look COOL!

The entire squirt boat section of CBoats needs a lot of work, as I've learned...New Wave (now PS Composites) attributes the squirt boats to Lugbill / Hearn in their old catalogues, but I've come to the conclusion that it's only because they were based largely on slalom boats said legends designed.... I had assumed that it was the folks at New Wave cutting them down then pulling a mold off of them, and now you toss Andy Bridge into the mix on me! Anyone out there care to enlighten all of us ?

Anyway, I almost wonder if what you have is an Aerobat...if it is, and you ever want to part with it, let me know...it's the only boat missing from the squirt boat series (Ok, I need a meltdown too...).

Dear Tom,

I am sure you known the folks at Mill Creek Camp near DC. THey have several boats there that they use for instruction that you might be able to purchase. I bought a Vaha from them recently.
