C1 playboat ideas?

Post by C1 8.1 »

Hey Folks,
First post after lurking for years. Thanks to all for your info and insight.
Looking to replace my GT 8.1 with a playboat. Would like it to be less than 7 feet and able to run class 4. Realize it is the paddler not the boat, just looking for a good choice.

I am around 195 and just over 6 feet tall.
Thinking about an Airhead or G-ride 6.5. Open to suggestions.
Paddled Bill's wheelboy and loved it. Awesome boat. Awesome folks. I am just a bit to heavy for it with gear. I am off the Friday and weekend of GAF to buy a boat if I have not found one yet. Used is my dollar guide. Greensboro North Carolina is home.

Charlotte will have the park in the not to distant future and Raleigh has park and play when the rains come heavy. The Ocoee would also be more fun. Would like to have some more fun in a short boat. Thanks to Bill and David for showing me what I was missing.

On a slightly different note. Just finished converting a Nomad 8.5. Not been in moving water yet. Hope the seat is where I like or will have to do some more drilling and break out the weldwood. Will post a note when I actually get it down some moving water. I did figure out what you folks mean by primary and secondary stability. Seems it has lots of secondary.

Hi Joe

Larger than your preferred length, the s8235 I think is a nice rr/play. I have also seen lots of people converting super ez's

BTW if you want to try a larger designed wheelboy, the Big Boy should clear customs about 9/20. 6'9"

I'm loving my Riot Nitro

Speedy, playful, good river runner.

You should like using edges if you consider it.

At first I found it kinda narrow but I quickly changed my mind about that.
