Pickin up a Fluid Solo

Post by CosmikDebris »

I'm picking up a Large Fluid Solo creekboat this weekend, will post a report. Should be pretty good seeing as it had a lot of design input from a Cboater (Joe Stumpfel). Could be the answer to the Blunt...?hmmm

Aren't they a bit narrow for a C1 at 25 1/4" (small) and 25.5" (large), at least for balance challenged guy's like me?...
They look good though.

Martin,
I don't think I've ever had a boat that was wider than 25.5". Well, except for my Cascade. I think it'll be good, looks like a wide stable hull. Hopefully I'll get on Linville sunday (finally) and I'll post a good report. You coming back down anytime again Alden?

Well, havn't gotten to paddle the Fluid yet because all my lame butt kayaking friends have been using it since their boats are "broken." Anyways, that's not to say there hasn't been some action. I showed up at the Green the other day sans paddle and had my first C-handpaddling experience. That was pretty fun, the 'Scade is a good hand paddler. Then, went to the North Fork of the French Broad at 3+' and blindly ran Boxcar, with a horrendous beatdown following my blind launch. It wasn't fun, but I was able to pull off soem good loops and cartwheels in the cascade. Fun stuff.
