hey everyone,

joe s just made a GREAT video that is up on www.justfluid.com under "beaver/raquette helmet cam"

it's awesome footage of some rivers in NY. you really get a sense of what it's like to be in the c-1 paddling exuberantly off some good stuff.

you also get the sense that this guy is really having a good time out there and firing up cross boofs left and right.

when i paddle with joe now, it's like an unwritten code - you just can't back down from a cross boof, no matter what size the falls.

anyway, hope you enjoy the vid

I'll reply for ronnie...he's a righty. He also possesses some wierd skill that no one else on earth does...c1 stick/handpaddle, k1 stick/handpaddle...fuckin' amazing I'd say. over...

im amazed that you handpaddled the green in c-1. i recently did some paddling up in VT with a green river transplant (bobby pfister) and he mentioned how he had done stuff like that too on the Gnarrows - hand paddling, paddling c-1, oc-1, taking a wavesport xxx down in the green race and throwing cartwheels in the eddy above gorilla for the crowd . . . and he's definitely a mature boater who's judgement I respect. I guess "yall" (as you would say down there) can get comfy with that river!

What kind of move did you do at Zwicks? What about chief? hammer factor? Man, honestly, I can't imagine that. Did you just use bare hands, or did you use handpaddles?

Only thing ive handpaddled (only bare hands though) in c-1 was "Devil's Dip" on the Tuck in Bryson!

not sure about ronnie, but I forgot my paddle at the takeout one day and handpaddled the cascade. race line at frankenstein, everything else was the same. Didn't run go left or gorrilla cause I am a pussy I guess, but it was pretty straight forward. Well, as long as you keep the cascade pointed the right direction. kind of hard to correct that boat with power pawz...
