Anybody know anything about the Kayaderosseras Creek in upstate NY? Specifically it flows from near South Corinth to Saratoga Lake. I doubt there's any whitewater, but seeing as my co-worker and I are looking for an adventure and his house rests on the bank of it, I thought it worth investigating.
I envision launching as close to the start as we can get, bringing stuff for overnight, and hoping we can do it all in 2 days or less.
Anyone?

I have not paddled the Kayaderosseras in some time.
From Middle Grove to Rock City Falls is fairly narrow class 1-2. I've never heard of anyone attempting Rock City Falls. From below the falls to Ballston Spa is pretty continuous easy class 2-3. There is a small dam-like structure just below the route 50 bridge in Ballston Spa. From Ballston Spa to Saratoga Lake is very nice class 1. Much of the creek above Ballston Spa is not runnable at lower water levels (summer). Strainers are an issue for it's entire length.
Right now, the Kayaderosseras is running quite high from heavy rain/snow. Last nights snow brought down a lot of trees around here, some may have found their way into the creek. Camping in Upstate N.Y. can be cold and wet this time of year.
The creek has been the subject of much attention by several local activists. Thanks to their efforts it is currently in the best shape it has been in many years.

Nice info! I'm thinking of starting closer to Corinth, upstream of Middle Grove, but the large number of possible strainers after all this snow/ice/slush has me worried that it will be more trouble than it's worth.

There is a description of the sections Rock City Falls to Ballston Spa (9 miles) and Ballston Spa to Saratoga Lake (12 miles) in a book called "Canoe and Kayak Guide East Central New York State" by Kathy Armstrong and Chet Harvey (editors) which is published by the Adirondack Mountain Club.
Above Rock City Falls it seems like it would be too narrow to paddle. Below Rock City Falls there could be a lot of strainers and it approaches Class III so watch out you could go around a bend and come upon a tree. There is a tricky take out above a dam.

Yay! It was a gorgeous trip! The amount of debris in the creek was amazing, there were a few spots that were impossible to paddle through, especially with the lawn chairs and car fenders wedged into the trees.

It looks like all the hard work over the summer has been wiped out by the month of October! Apparently a lot of people got their back yards cleaned up though
You sure had beautiful fall weather.
Saturday, on a hike just 70 miles north of Ballston Spa, we encountered over 3' of snow. We had to turn back because we had not brought our snowshoes and I was post-holing nearly to my waist. Li' l D was practically up to her neck I think!
