documentary/movie The River?
Does anyone know, have or saw the movie that I think was called the river? From what I've heard, it is about the western boating community, footage of paddlers from the 60s and 70s as well as current footage of what those paddlers are currently up to.
I'd like to find and see this movie. Can anyone help?

Could not find
THe only movie that I could find with that title was one where these people had their farm flooded.
Can you be more discriptive, I would like to see it myself. I remember seeing some safety movies about paddling in the 70's after the movie Deliverance came out. Seems that several people drowned trying to duplicate the efforts of Burt Reynolds and company.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of "Give us a River" ? That was not about the Western boating community, but it did have footage from the 60's or so. (Including one very exciting segment where they showed you "ROLLING". The kayakers rolled. And then they announced "something REALLY special: A C-1 ROLL!!!" And the guy paddles out, flips over, & braces back up (ie, no 360). Actually, it is a really really great historical memento of the early era -- folks like John Berry & Bob Harrigan looking almost contemporary; dan sullivan i believe running Little falls without a helmet (Some people argued helmets were unsafe because the helmet might get stuck between rocks) etc etc.

It could be "Give us a River" because I'm not sure about any of the details.
What else do you know? How old is it? Does it include old as well as new footage?
