Leland's Creeking Clinic

Post by Matt Fritz »

Hey,

I just signed up for Leland's creeking clinic in May. There will be three of us from Texas. Will anyone else from cboats be there as well?

No need to worry about that. Our goal is to meet some other cboaters, learn a little about creeking and have fun. We have two C1's and an open boat coming. What will you be paddling?

video is a great idea. Both from a learning perspective and for fun cause I am betting we generate some serious carnage. Chris 8)

Yeah, I'm sure there'll be some carnage. Louie, it'd be nice to meet you, and I would love to give your Taureau a try if I can get my long legs in it. The dates are May 13-14.

for sure you can use it and if your legs are that long we'll take the foot pegs out and you can brace again the back wall. Do you know Randy Barnes or the one legged texan ? What Creek are you on.

No, I don't know Randy Barnes or a one-legged Texan. I live in Dallas. We have two creeks here in Dallas, white rock creek and rowlett creek that come up after a good rain. They are fed by the drainage from the suburbs up north so we get a lot of water (up to 10,000 cfs) all at once, but it doesn't last long. The closest quality whitewater, Cossatat Falls, is about 3.5 hours away in Arkansas. See the picture below.

Hey Louie

Met you on middle Tellico last Friday. Was paddling yellow BigGun C-1 in group of 9 boaters. Few years ago, I took that one legged Texan down the middle Tellico for his first time. Also another time helped carry his boat out on upper Green. Hadnt seen him in a while. Guess one of his legs is still in Spring Creek.
Good meeting you. Bev Bryant
