Maven in whitewater...

Post by Sir Adam »

In preparation for not making quite such a fool of myself this coming week I took the Maven down the Sacanadaga, the local class II / III river. I can't wait until I get dialed in to the boat! Minor body twitches fix tracking, squirting, etc... Now all I have too do is figure out which twitches do what

It's definitely more stable than my Wildwater boat, or Oxygen for that matter. Definitely LESS stable than the acrobat. Crashing THROUGH some of the waves was fun, and i did a tiny bit of playing around on an eddy line. weird to actually put the bow THROUGH an eddy line underwater for the first time (in a relatively horizontal position...)...hopefully not the last though:) ).

This Friday should be interesting... 8)

Right now my Maven is down for "repairs" -John Mason "suggested" I consider making the cockpit rim thicker so my new Maven skirt can be a Fatlip one, that he considers best for squirt boats...so I cut the old rim off today and glassed in a newer, bigger one. So, my pretty Maven isn't as pretty as it was, and is turning into a testbed for further tweaks, but it's still sparkly and fun 8)

FWIW a skirt that will fit one of Jim Snyder's boats is apparently an almost perfect fit for the Maven!
Keep the C!
