***NEWSFLASH*** Paul Mason Quits Paddling ***NEWSFLASH***

Post by Craig Smerda »

Paul recently came for a little visit.

Here's me trying to teach Paul to keep his T-grip up... he still doesn't get it?
He thinks dragging your knuckles along the gunnels is fun and in good form... poor Canadians?
Notice Paul picking water lillies?

Then I decided that since he (a cartoonist? ) didn't understand the whole "paddling" concept I would somehow try to get him involved in watersports. I did a little demonstration for him...

After several hours of contemplation and trips to "pee" in the bushes Paul finally gathered up the courage to attempt his newest river hobby.
He jumped and missed on his first attempt... but we encouraged him to keep trying.
After about half an hour of us encouraging him he realized we seemed ready to quit.

In one last futile attempt Paul launched  himself into the river letting out a groan as he slammed into the wake.
"He's on!" I exclaimed with joy.
Paul nervously surfed back and forth for a few moments finding his comfort zone on the wave and atop his newest river craft.
Then out of nowhere  a rogue "wave-pile" swept him off and he frantically swam towards the eddy-line.
"Paul are you alright?" I yelled.
"Man.... that was huge!" he screamed with delight. "I wish we had waves like that on the Ottawa to play on!!!"
..... sadly no video's or picture's exist of Paul's harrowing ride.

The End :P
