Skeeter question

Post by steveinknoxville »

I have to lean waaay back to keep from pearling. Am i too bow heavy and need to move the saddle back or is the way a skeeter does. It is much better on really fast waves and it runs the river like a champ. Any one with ideas, Thanks Stephen

hey, every boat has it's wave...
i don't know the skeeter, but it's probably 8 or 9 ft. long, right? it aint gonna shred on the same waves that your buds in 6 1/2'playboats are shreddin. you probably just need to find the biggest, fastest wave around.... the one the playboats can't stay on.

if you just have to surf problem waves, you can try to carve back and forth, it'll slow you down and keep you from getting too deep in the trough. if that doesn't work, just do a big fat open canoe ender, then go downstream and find a wave thats more fun for your boat :D

It's not "pearling", it's "initiating".

Go with it.

hello. heres 2 more cents. Get a friend to spot you on a lake or stream. Lean forward with your paddle in the forward stroke position and hold it there. Move around till you achieve neutral bow/stern trim while in that position . Thats as bow light as you want I think. Most slalom boat paddlers want a bow heavy boat in the forward stk. position.

It just wants a bigger wave. But man this boat is fun to drop in a hole and work. It is pretty loose, and i like it a lot. glad i got it.
