Cheat Fest Armada--who's attending?

Post by KNeal »

So far, I have heard from Maxwell about paddling during Cheat Fest and can probably count on the PAC man  . I haven't heard from Warren, yet, but where there is water, there is Warren. Who else is coming to Cheat Fest? Training for the downriver race has begun. To date, I can hold my breath for 45 sec. while still in the boat. The cold water has prevented me from working on my open water swimming skills

More information is on the calendar. Be sure to look at it. The weekend for me will start on Friday (May 2?), so I'll be up for paddling something before the race.

This has always been a great weekend for paddling a lot of stuff, and there is plenty to paddle whether you're an intermediate or advanced boater. Post here and let's paddle!

Cheat Fest

Post by maxwell »

Hey. Count me and my new Delirious in for Cheat Fest! I will, however, be bringing a few paddlers who still use training wheels, to pay for the travel costs. (Two of them actually own C-1s, but are just learning). Hope this is all right. Looking forward to it. Should be a great weekend. Wouldn't mind possibly hitting a different river on Sunday. Maybe Lower Yough. Thanx.

I’ll be there (with new tires on the vehicle and hopefully without a head cold)!
Rumor has it, from the folks in Albright, BN is hungry and looking forward to both the race and your hero route :o run!!! :D
If the Cheat is running juicy and / or folks are not comfortable on it there are other options to paddle which I’ve tried to noted below. I’m sure we can hook up and get shuttles set for multiple group runs if so needed. Let me know if you need my cell number again. I think I still have yours.
Info on the fest can be found at http://www.cheat.org .
River info via AWA can be found at…
Cheat Canyon http://www.americanwhitewater.org/rivers/id/2347/ with river photos
Big Sandy 3 sections I-III, III-IV and IV-V, Little Sandy II and III-IV can be found on the WV page of AWA - http://www.americanwhitewater.org/rivers/state/WV/
The Yough and a few others rivers are within easy driving distance as well. Hope to see you, and others, there! PAC

Cheat Fest

I plan on being there with my Batmax. I need to get the dust off of it and what better way than racing down the Cheat.
I popped my ribs last weekend creekin' so I need to get back into a more sedate discipline of paddling for awhile.
Let me know if your coming to W. Va. sooner than Cheat Fest.
