OC Canoe National Race Results
Where can we get updated race results on the web, to see how our Western homies are doing?
Not sure how often it will be updated, but this is the event site:

Results
Yeah, they will not post results until they are done paddlin' and partying, so start looking next week.
I am jealous. After planning to go for many months I got tied up with some family problems and I am missing it, so I am looking forward to the results to see what I missed.
Good luck to all the racers!

There were some C-Boats folks winning medals. TOG (Team Old Guy) was represented, but we did not make it to the medal stand.
Alden, Kaz & I think Pat & Dooley took some medals home from the Friday & Saturday races. There were probably more & I appologize now for leaving anyone out. I did not stick around for Sunday's races & don't know how they turned out.
Jim, the results are no indication of what you missed. Ever see an OC race boat mystery? I mean chest to shoulders deep It looked cool until the gunwales broke & the saddle (& paddler) floated out The results also won't have anything about the fine picking & singing that Pat (NEOC Slalom Rules) & Eli graced us with at the dinner on Saturday night. Pat's slalom racing song was real cool. There was some NC beer that went to SC & some SC BBQ came to NC. Scott, thanks for the Q
It was easy water with some tricky moves. Unless you were on the bottom end of the course, you have no idea how many swims were taken...though not everyone swam to the bottom of the course. I know that two of us swam in the downriver portion of the combined The young lady swam the falls. I hit a rock somewhere above surfers & every time I tried to set up (with my bent-shaft) the blade would dive. After 4 or 5 roll atempts while beating rocks into submission with my helmet, I decided to just get out of the boat. It's amazing how many people pass you when you are swimming I hope I redeemed myself by making my roll after filling the boat & flipping on that wave coming out of gate 10 on Saturday
This was the second slalom race that I've entered. As I expected, I was WAY down the list when results were posted. I had a great time & will do slalom again. If you've never tried it, give it a whirl. It's not easy. I'm glad I went & got to see the big boys run the course...you guys & girls are amazing! A big thanks to Kaz for telling me the not as wet line coming out of gate 10 It was also great re-aquainting with old freinds & making new ones.

Nice to meet everyone down there. I'm getting closer now to having met all cforum regulars in person. I don't pretend to have met, as the website is called, (all of) "the Broams" (there are six), but now I have at least met their cforum representative. I have also met Mike W, Dooley, Eli, and Bill (as ye sow, so shall ye) Reap and others. Even got to try the fabled Wheelboy. Add me to the list of swimmers - we swam in tandem boat! Overall, a great weekend. Time for the closed boat nationals . . .
