Post by colorado c-1er »

i need to tap the wealth of c-1 knowledge from you guys once again! has anyone paddled an amp c-1 style? i'm looking for a boat that is in between my old xxx and my session +. according to the specs it sounds like the amp may be just that! any help would be appreciated!
thanks.

I paddled the AMP once this fall as a C-1. I'm used to a Forplay C-1. I only weight 145, but I could throw the Amp around much easier than the Forplay.

The thing that was funny was that it felt much tippier than the Forplay at the top of the run, but by the bottom I was actually happier I was in a smaller boat because I could do more large steaming pile of dog doo (like stern squirt on my offside.) It was flat spinning really well on that day, too. Much better than any of the kayaks, in truth! hahaha

good luck

when i had my xxx ii would get worked over in holes, but i could do flatwater cartwheels all day long. i decided i wanted a little more volume in my boat. i weigh 165 and was sitting pretty low in the water. the session + hasn't gotten a fair chance by me yet. last season over here was really dry. i only got to paddle it a few times. it is a much better river runner and a great surfing boat, with a lot more speed than the xxx. i guess i just miss the cartwheeling that i had with the xxx. so, i was thinking about an in between boat, a decent river runner and a good play boat. i am really looking forward to paddling the session + some more this summer though. it is looking like we will have some more water in the rivers than last year! the amp looked like a good in between boat for play and all around paddling, just judging by the volume and other details of the boat.
