The XXX is great for cartwheeling, stern and bow squirts and such, but the volume is with 45 gallons still fairly high.
As far as I know the EuroKayaks boats (don't remember whether the number was for the Axis or the Enigma) were more around 35 gallons, which makes a huge difference.

Heck, if I was living in the US i would be all over that Enigma, for 50 bucks you can't go wrong, however since I am in Canada it would just be a shipping and customs nightmare and the logistics would cost me most likely a few hundred bucks...

I agree with Martin and all that the XXX is great for cartwheeling, stern and bow squirts and such, but I also have a solution - to a degree - to the volume issues. Squash it. Although it may be a bit twitchy at first I really enjoy paddling mine at lesser levels.

Although you will never get it to true squirt boat sizing you can bring it a tad closer - I did that to one I pick up from CosmikDebris. You can look at it at http://www.geocities.com/paulcline2002/xxx.jpg. Its a fun little boat and hard to destroy since its plastic so you should be good to go with it! You will never get DT with it but at some ledges you might be able to get it to mush for you.

onepaddlejunkie - were are you located in AR-Kansas? I know for a fact the Ouachita's can be hard on boats! Are you paddling near Malvern or north up in the Ozarks? I spent some time living near Hot Spings. Really nice country - geat bird hunting too!

Let us know how it goes! Paul C.

Paul, I live in Dover AR which is north of Russellville on highway 7 in the beautiful Ozarks, although I do go to the Ouachita mts also. We have just started getting some rain here and I got to paddle Big Piney Creek last Saturday. The water was good, the fall foliage was spectacular and the air temperature was in the low 70s. What else could you ask for?
Having lived around Hot Springs I’m sure that you have been down to play at the Rockport Ledge. We (Arkansas Canoe Club) are in the process of working with the city of Malvern and some other entities on building the lower ledge into a world class whitewater park with change rooms, overlooks and hiking trails. You need to come back for a visit and do a little paddling in the not too distant future.

Roy - I've been meaning to get back there - had some fun on the Buffalo too! If I remember correctly coolers are legal!
Nice to hear about Ropckport as well. Very nice little spot. Get that xxx out there - it would be perfect there!

Martin - Both of those enigmas has been sold. But not to me! Just letting you know! LOL
