New to C1, want to hook up with other denver boaters

Post by QuicoReed »

After years in a kayak, I bought my first C1. I am looking to meet up with some other C1ers or OC boaters who will be interested in a local easy run until I get the feel of the boat. I've played a little on the Boulder Creek, but I need to work on my combat roll and have a partner to run something easy (class II for now).

Anyone out there looking for a quick run on the Clear Creek through Golden, or Boulder Creek, or other easy run?

Hey Curtis,

I am an OC boater (looking at getting a C1 real soon). My friend and I live in Fort Collins. The Poudre River has lots of different levels of ability if you are interested.

Curtis,
If you head west at all, Ark or upper C or lower blue, I'd be glad to paddle with another c boater. I've already got plans for this weekend, but pm me about next

There are quite a few aspiring c-boaters as part of the Front Range Paddle Association. Granted, their focus is largely on going fast and gates, but they are a great group of kids who are a lot of fun to paddle with. They almost always have a good time.

How 'bout this afternoon?

Post by oopsiflipped »

I should be done at the raft shop in Idaho Springs by 2ish. I could be at any of several area put-ins (Foxton? Poudre?) by 4ish if anyone else is up for some canoeing this afternoon. Call my cell:

I'd be up for the park in Golden or even going to a pond to work on drills. Maybe it wouldn't be so boring with other folks....

What is up?

I am in Arvada (10 min. west of Denver) and paddle C-1. What are you looking to paddle? The water is down and the runs are limited but should have some water for the next few weeks. So, I am down to paddle any time.

As for the other that have replied to the post, where are you other than Chris I do not think that I know any of you and we need to get a C-crew together. Do any of you compete freestyle? Do you want to?
