Viper c1 f/s

Post by billcanoes »

Ok I have two Viper C1s- I'm keeping one

One is the boat Scott was selling- it's an 02 no seat very nice blue glitter flake -$750 firm

the other is older but in good shape pretty faded $350 firm

both are full cut and you get a nearly new (used 14 time or so large snap dragon spray skirt with either

Any pix of the didn't-used-to-be-my-viper? Is the cockpit any bigger?

Hey Scott

Post by billcanoes »

I should have brought the Viper with me- I figured if I'm going to limit myself to 10 boats I want them to be sparkly :) (if applicable)

so I'm upgrading - potentially my viper and my acrobat- though I'm not heartset on definitively having the newer boat

I'll take some pics by the end of the week

A weekend's work and the cockpit COULD be bigger;)

Seriously, it IS easy. The planning is the toughest part. Ok, and getting the epoxy out of your hair.

An evening figuring out your new rim size and cutting it out,
another evening cutting the fiberglass squares and putting part of an old hose on the boat for a form, as well as lightly sanding the underside of the deck,
A third evening laying up the rim (won't take long)
A forth trimming it out, sanding it, and making it look pretty.

I'm assuming you have 1-2 hours that might be freed up occasionally in an evening. I usually do steps 1-3 in an afternoon, then step 4 at some random time after it's cured. Trimming the rim 90-120 minutes after your done laying it up (or less with your heat) when it is "green" will save A LOT of time and aches...5 minutes to trim it with a sheetrock (utility) knife, vs 1 hour + to cut it with a hacksaw after it's cured.

Perhaps when I start assembling Mentor's I'll have a rim clinic, or seam clinic up here 8) .

I think my picasaweb gallery of the Viper pix is still up, but I can't check now - they have blocked access to picasaweb from work. Grrrr. It's only a matter of time before they decide to block access to the other really important stuff - like e-mail and C-Boats.

I have seen pictures of Scott's former boat. It's really nice but more than I'd like to spend. It's the other one I might be interested in, especially with a skirt included.

Who built it?
