Thanks, OC1Paddlr, I'm on your side (and on Louie's). It's good to have him back on the forum being "lost" so long over summer. I too enjoy reading his posts and do laugh heartily.
Knowing Louie since last years Ain'tLouieFest, seeing him boat, seeing him live (and let live), experiencing how he welcomed a complete stranger and Kraut on top of that just because he was a fellow cboater, that is unrivalled.
Reading his posts in his "innovative" use of English grammar and spelling is always a thorough experience. And he does talk like he writes (and writes like he talks), not always easy to understand but refreshing and true "suthern".
I think.
But, was this post not about someone else?
"A canoe trip?" he said. "There ain't nothing to go down there for."
"Because it's there," Lewis said.
Are you talking about Genesee -- the beer? Genny? Great stuff. Actually, no, the opposite. My friends and I used to get 30 packs of that back when we were freshman. Actually, I should say -- the older guys who bought beer for us got it and kept the rest of our cash, probably.
I think it's made in New York state somewhere. You can only find it way in the back of the liquor store. You know how they have an order of priority. First, you see the expensive beers out front. Then you walk a little farther and you start to see the good domestic beers. Then the nicer light beers. Soon you get to the really cheap stuff. You may bump into Kaz loading his cart. Keep going -- even though you can't see much because the lights don't work. But keep going, and if you look way back there -- and sometimes you actually have to reach through a little hole in the cooler, back into the staff room -- that's when you feel the Genny back in there. After you pay for it ($4.00 for a 24 pack) and take it home, you . . . what was this topic about again? Oh yes, the Genesee River . . .

That kills me that there are different kinds of Genny. Genesee Cream Ale, Genesee Bock Beer? Yikes. I wonder what exactly Genesee NA (Non-Alcoholic) is? Do they just bottle Genesee River water straight, with nothing done to it?
Louie's posts always make me think of one thing (linked for your listening pleasure),
man that is really cool... i bet we could start a whole new thing about that what that song is really about. did we go from boats to psyhco to louie to psychodelic? sounds kinda like my life in reverse
Like a true 'woodchuck' (a type of Adirondacker) Louie had one request, Genny Cream Ale. So we loaded up the truck and went to Tennessee. Tales were told, but Psycho would not tell which one rapid of the Green he hasn't swum. Psycho tales have since seeped into the deep woods of Vermont, there may even be a couple bumper stickers out there that read; Psycho Swam. Man that was trip......
I made a video for the NPFF called"Souther Hair and at one rapid Dad swam carried up and swam again. We named it Dave's two Swims. He wasn't that ammused. Falk I knowed you talked funny but I just though you was from way up north.
