Older C-boats for sale

Post by billhay4 »

I have a Dagger Atom and Cascade for sale. Have some gear that I'd let go, too (skirts, airbags, etc.). These are older boats and have been sitting for a number of years as I've retired from serious whitewater boating.
Western Washington state.

Hey, Bill! Glad to see you using our site. Haven't heard from you since you left the east to go west. Have you stuck with the boating since the move. I see you're selling your boats. Are you done boating, or upgrading your "quiver"?

Retired

Post by billhay4 »

Hey, Neal.
No boating out here. I've retired pretty much except for some flat water. Got too old and fat and scared. May go back to some easy boating in the future if my health improves.
I also have a Blackwater I'd let go, but only for a good price. Great expedition boat.
Hope you're still in the game.

Hi Bill:

Just curious, what is the price on the atom and the cascade? Also, what kind of shape are they in?

Dont know if you've been in touch with the old Roanoke paddlers. We had a going away party at Ruthie's home for Dave Baer and Susan few months ago. Dave retired to the mountains of Costa Rica. I'm C-1 (conv. Riot BigGun) and at 62 still doing Cranberry, Goshen, Noli, etc. Get your ears wet!

Still for sale

Post by billhay4 »

Sorry, guys,
I've been out of touch with the board for a while.
The boats are still for sale. I also have a Blackwater located in Virginia I'd get rid of, albeit reluctantly.
I'll take $100 for either boat.
The Blackwater is a different matter and I'll have to think about a price for it.

Follow up

Post by billhay4 »

To follow up on my earlier post.
Both boats are in fair to good condition. They have been paddled a lot, but have no tears, holes, or cracks. They've been sitting covered for six years, though.
The Cascade is a tradition round bottom boat. It is paddled by leaning and carving turns. The Atom is built more on the old Max lines. Flat bottom. The paddler keeps his or her body over the center of the boat to carve turns. The Atom is much faster, but also is tippier, being prone to load up on the tail end and flip if you get careless.
As for Washington boating, there really isn't much here comparable to the Noli, Cranberry, etc. Class III or V is the norm here and lots of the latter. Rivers here tend to be much faster than their Eastern counterparts. The Class V is pretty intense at normally run levels.
Enough said. PM me if you are interested in one of the boats or want more information.
