Mad river vs. Dagger??

Post by Walsh »

If it's the same as the venerable Dagger Caption, check out Thrill of the Paddle (Mason/Scriver) for some tandem boof shots.

I had never heard of the Mad River Caption until a couple of weeks ago. It's popped up three or four times on the board now, and sure enough, there's a 14' tandem whitewater boat listed on Mad River's page: http://www.madrivercanoe.com/caption

Did MR actually purchase the Dagger Caption mold? Is this the same hull, or is it tweaked? Has anyone bought or paddled one, yet? I should think this would be big news to us tandem freaks, but I haven't heard a word about it.

I'm not sold on the Blast, and wasn't sure what I would do it the Probe 14 gave up the ghost (or more likely I gained a few pounds and put us out of the 'performance' weight range . . . ) This sounds like very good news indeed.

Looks like my question has already been answered. Bad news is I'm an idjit. Good news is the Caption is back in production.
