Interesting, Interesting. I like to see people experimenting and pushing the OC-1 playboat idea. I'll be really interested to see how well it performs.

I will try and upload some build pictures tomorrow guys.....
No duct tape here!....It is a fully plastic welded fabrication constructed from plastic sheet....
How does it handle.....Sweet, far better than I hoped!! :D :D
I have taken it out on a river trip grade 3/4 and its great...very agile and light never feels unmanagable even with water on board...
I have a new favorite boat...!!

OK....Sorry about the delay, I been out having fun in it!! :D

First thing I did was a rough C1 conversion to check the boat out seat height and trim etc....Do this before cutting the top off... :o

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb53 ... G_0596.jpg

Happy with that i then drew out the top section of the deck...How big you make that is entirley up to you but for competition it has to be 3800sq cm...Open area...this is 3802sq cm Open area !! I was only able to find white or black, plastic sheet, bummer

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb53 ... CF0728.jpg

The sides are tapered slightly outwards slightly....The next stage is interesting, having marked out the hull it took a full two cans of beer and a deep breath before i drilled a hole and went in with the jigsaw.......less than 5 minutes and my newest boat looked like this....!

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb53 ... CF0780.jpg

No going back now..
Corners were bent over a home made former....in the oven at 160C for 5 minutes.....after cooling they were trimmed to remove the distorted ends.
With the sides cut to shape the whole lot was then tacked into position and seemed up with a plastic welder.

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb53 ... CF0802.jpg

I had to use Vinyl sticker material on the outside to cover the white as paint does not take...not ideal but better than nothing...

http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb53 ... CF0816.jpg

That done it was down to the outfitting, made up some Beech thwarts, foam saddle knee bulkhead etc.
Borrowed the air bags from my CU Fly...and off to the river....

Have fun....
