Jennifer and I enjoyed great warm weather and a bunch of tiring slalom workouts last weekend in San Marcos, Texas at the Rio Vista whitewater park.
In between workouts, Jennifer took a little video of me playboating the first drop. I've never had so much fun. I'm learning lefty moves using my t-grip hand to initiate. I'm not sure if you call them just spins, little blunts, low angle cartwheels or what, but it was great fun. I'm learning to just commit to initiating the bow and the stern will pop free.
Hope you enjoy the short video.
By the way, I'm really loving my Superstar. I'm 6'6" tall and about 190lbs and it seem the perfect size for me and super loose.

I'll be there in a few weeks
I'll be in San Antonio in March (from Montana), no paddling up here yet. How long is the Rio Vista run?
Rio Vista
CDawg,
The run is very short. Here is an aerial view before they built the park. The dam shown was removed and replaced with three drops. The pictures appears to show whitewater above the dam. Not true. The run ends before the river passes under the road. Matt's video shows the first and biggest drop. I enjoy it and it has helped greatly my boating. Should be an easy drive from San Marcos and much better than the San Antonio River Walk.

Thanks
Thanks. Not long but looks like nice playspots, and from the info I have the water is warm.
The River walk does have some good scenery, especially on a hot summer night, and lots of beer. Oh, and it also has a Hooters.
