outfitting

Post by grizwalsh »

Hi. I just got a used probe and I have to change the position of the thigh straps and knee pads. Any ideas on how to remove the old ones? Thanks

Removing D-rings that were properly bonded is a pain. I'd just cut the D-ring off, scrape any nylon with a razor, and put the new D-ring overlaping the old if needed. You can try to chisel them off, but I'm not sure it would be worth it.

With knee pads, see if you can incorporate part of the old pads into the new. Dragonskin or just plain old 60 grit sandpaper will let you shape them. Then bond the new overlapping or butted into the old.
