actually thinking that without glue sand can/will get under or inbtween... while if structure is adhered, then sand cannot get there

D'oh! That was a typo - I meant glued. I need to look at my PE boats that are outfitted that way, maybe clean them out and lay down a bead of caulk if not insert a layer of foam.
