All the guys on here who claim to be frugally minded individuals and all i hear is Thule and Yakima? Quik-N-EZ is where it's at if you've got rain gutters!

large steaming pile of dog doo, my old car is only an 84 and my new one's an 86. I break down less than 1/2 the time I go paddling and anyone who told you different is a liar.

I attended several Armadas, and picked up MANY boats in New England with NO rack...and yes, I was driving a car...with a blanket on the roof, and straps through the windows. Needless to say I had the bow and stern tied off as well.

The funniest looks I ever got were 5 boats on my TT...driving through Boston. I had racks then, though.
Keep the C!

I think there are pictures of Adams TT with the 5 boats around here somewhere - pretty sure one was a C-2 that was longer than the car?

Oh, yeah, QnEs are great - a friend has them on his ancient Jeep Pickup with the official QnE ash bars. If you are putting the racks on a shell, put Yakima's "top loader" (Thule has an equivalent?) up there - those are the plates that form a section of artificial gutter then use the QnEs.
