I've been looking all over for them, both the 3/4" ones and the 1 1/2" ones. Mad River used to sell me them in bulk at like 50 at a time, but that outfit has changed since the Henry's ran the show.
Any links or help would be a big help
thanks

plastic d ring plates
I get mine from Ed at Tussey Mountain Outfitters. You can call him, 814-355-5690, and order them. He mails stuff promptly and he can give you tips on how to really make them stick well. TMO specializes in open boats cause they're open boaters as well. As for the comment about breaking them, I've used them for many years and never broke one. I think it has to do with how they're attatched that allows them to stay strong.
try kevlar rope
cut a short length, peel the covering off a few inches, fray out the core and epoxy it almost flat to the hull. pretty bombproof anchor.
I recall Mark and I had some info on that in "thrill' book
