Hudson Armada Update

Post by Sir Adam »

Less than 2 weeks to the Hudson Armada...hopefully.

Here's the Update-the Hudson is at 2.5 or so, which is low. Quite frankly I can't ask all you folks from far away to drive 10 hours to boat it at 1300 CFS WITH the release.

BUT it's supposed to rain tonight, and tomorrow, which will help. I'll keep watching the forecast, and if rain is forecast again next week, we should be in good shape-if the river is 3.5-4.5, everyone will have a good time and it shouldn't be TOO intimidating :D .

Just so I have final numbers to work with, who is planning on heading over to the Hudson the first week in October? The foliage should be just about peak, and I can provide housing indoors (heated or not, depending on the final Armada numbers and your preference).

Adam, I'm still planning to come. I may need a tow boat the last mile. I recommend that those whose knees talk pad there saddle an inch, it does make a difference.
Last years run took about 5 Hrs., how much longer will a lower flow add to the trip?

I just checked the North Creek gauge and the Thursday release was above 4 feet. There seems to be more Precip. coming this weekend and next week. So is there anyone joining me and Adam on this coming weekend? It could be a beautiful Indian summer day.
