and I wasn't talk about Tandom, even though I put the Caption in that list cause for some reason a lot of people use it as a Solo boat and I guess if I was doin the Canyon I might consider one, ( If i could tow my Teaureau behind).

WAS GONE BY THE time they came out with that one, but I can't believe they made that many of the things. but maybe they are a hot item for some, but they just ain't too many where I come from

So Louie, I'm trying hard to figure out precisely what you think was wrong with the Phantom design other than you don't like the guy who designed it. Owning four of them and paddling Phantoms probably 50 days a year, I'm really having to work at finding fault with them.

For an under 10-foot boat, the Phantom is fast. It has sharp enough chines to carve well. It surfs really well on a wider range of waves than say the Zoom. It's great in a side surf. It handles big water. It handles technical water. It's great for creeking. It's fairly dry and when it fills with water, it's more stable than a Zoom, Ocoee, Solito and many other boats.

In my garage I also have an Ocoee, a Solito, an Outrage, and an Esquif Prelude. When I'm looking forward to a day of maximum playboating, it's always one of the Phantoms I grab.

front end was what I didn't like, short boats goes slower anyway why put a piece of plywood out in front of you pushing water. It just always seemed like half my effort was just to push the thing threw the water. I didn't give it much of chance , one time, but what I didn't like about this boat i don't think gettin use to it would fix it
