Big Al weighs ~ 220 lbs. Probably slightly over the recommended weight range for the Wooz ...
I weigh ~185 lbs, but I know guys around 200lbs who paddle a Prelude.
PAC is in a Finkenmeister. His live commentary is always priceless.

I think you might have hurt Al's feelings - he professes to weigh in closer to 208...

I'm 220# and have spent some time in the Wooz (5 minutes) and the Prelude (15 minutes) - I could not stay in the Wooz longer as it was too tippy for my taste. The Prelude was twitchy but I felt I could get used to it, however, for me it was too slow (couldn't get upstream).

Looks good!

Might be a good level for my PFD. I get mixed feedback on that run. Some say at (I think) 6.2, sneaks open. I think I'd rather have less push. Most feedback I get is that LBS is easier than UY. Looks like some pools below the big drops.

On another note, what is Gonzo using for pogies? Regular kayak pogies? Are they moded or anything? I've been using gloves but pogies are much warmer. I've been thinking about rigging something. However, when you switch hands it makes it tough. We'll leave that for another topic.

Fleckbass - 6ish provides some sneaks, is not too pushy and the lower drop of Big Splat is then PAC-do-able.

I think overall the lower levels are easier with it being run able down to 5'2"- even if others say 5'4" is the lower limit!
7ish its starts getting fairly pushy and takes more plan ahead paddling. While 8+ is time for PAC to go run something else.

But others love it at that level! To each their own!

Overall the BS is more straight forward with larger pools below the bigger drops than the UY. It’s easier to scout and doesn't have the blind drops either. Often seen as a good step up in getting ready for the UY its one of my favorite because of the lack of crowds.
A fellow boater said it was at 5'6" on Sat and everyone else was on the UY - a perfect sunny warm day for a run on it, and I missed it!

I think Gonzo using poggies for canoeing but I think they have longer cuffs than the pair I have. But I like gloves better for the finger dexterity for push'n off rocks and having to grab items. But he knows more about cold water paddling than I do so he'll have to chime in!

And i do like WOOZ instead of .....oh I get it...a ZOOM upsside down. Yep, that's me ,in my boat, and I look good in it .......when I'm temporarily upright.

just weighed myself this morning and I AM 207. Take me to a carney and I'll always win a prize when the age and weight guesser tries his magic.

Fleckbass, the Pogies I am using are single blade specific ones that I got from Mountain Surf. They are called Creek Mitts. Not sure if they are still/again available.
