Shaggy Designs built at some point the Imperial Cruiser, a back to back C2 based on the Sith. There is some footage fof it on their website, just go to the Video section: http://www.shaggydesigns.com/

It even shows them Flatwater cartwheeling it 8) !

CGRR, Central Georga River Runners, used to have a tandem day on the Ocoee each year. One of the boats that was there for a few years was a Sunburst II set up that way. We called it the Polish Canoe Team. It was quite interesting they had a good brace on both sides and did a lot of, for the time, outlandish things in it.

I am sure it does. Just take the good old sawzall to the hull and cut the stern of that puppy down until it resembles the good old Massive Departure... ...!

I'd hate for your L'edge to end up on backorder or somehow get lost or damaged in transit

I'll just order it under the pseudonym of Speedy Gonzales then, and nobody will know that it's for me...

Just a few quick questions for those of you that would prefer the "open" version.

Will you most likely want/order it with wood rails or vinyl rails?

For those of you that would order a wood railed boat... would you want the deckplates after we cut the top off the boat to possibly use at a later time? They'd be rough cut of course and you could/would cut and trim them to suit your own needs?

My thoughts, though I'd probably order decked - I'd go with wood because it will already be a comparatively heavy boat. Wood doesn't require that much maintenance and in my experience can be a better gunwale from a strength stand point (springs back vs. stays bent). Plus, you don't get water trapped inside wooden gunwales the same way you can with vinyl (like in my Zephyr). However, I have broken wooden gunwales...

I'd want the decks for possible future use - they'd be a source for matching welding rods.

I would prefer wood rails. Though I'm wondering if any manufactures have considered using the material (is it PE?) cutting boards are made of. I've seen it used for rub rails in the marine industry and it appears to hold up well.

That was kind of the point of my question back on page 3. For the consumer I think having the option of bolting on the factory molded decks at a later time is a good one.

I'd like to second the ideas of having the cut out deck for future welding needs.

Wood gunwales.
