For anyone in the Pacific Northwest... would you be interested in having an OCSlalom Nationals race in your backyard?

If ya' might and would be willing to lend a hand read this...

I will go where ever they decide to have it but I would love to see it hosted out West somewhere.

Craig,

Would you consider doing a similar but in person poll at the upcoming Nationals? Maybe something simple and non time consuming at registration.

Thanks

Sem-
does the Cedar have water in the fall or only the spring when they do the NW series race? There has to be some spots on the other bigger rivers around- the Sky, Snoqualmie? I would love to have a race in OR or WA. We really are pretty limited in MT with rivers that work well for slalom races, which apparently is why there aren't any ever.

Not sure about the Cedar in the fall. It's dam controlled and part of the Seattle water supply so maybe it would be a possibility.

Count me in for competing and helping with an OC slalom event in the northwest or western US. I'm in the seattle area and have started racing OC1 and K1 in the NW cup this year. Havent seen many other open boats at the races though...a few at the bend oregon race and the most was at the missoula race.

Will, welcome to c-boats.net.

I'm no slalom racer, just a recreational hack, but I'm in Vancouver and trying to build some community for ww canoeing, including a new OC slalom race on the Chilliwack (Sept 19-20 this year).

More info on the slalom talk here:

Maybe we'll see you at the Tamihi Five-0 or the Nooksack.

Pat.

Somewhere on the european mainland, but that's not an option ;-).

Its a pitty we don't have open canoe slalom in Europe. But we already have so few open boaters paddling whitewater...
