Hi abird,

Thanks for the info. I asked Patrick what was up on NPMB, this was his reply:

Hello,
Many of the boaters that I saw run Crystal ran the meat of the drop. A few went on the sneak route on river right. I also saw many boaters NOT run the drop at all.

The C-1er is from Canada and was running a fairly standard line. He ended up getting into the 'seam' that goes from right to left. He ended up getting windoshaded about five times. He finally got out of trouble and made it to the left and ran the drop fine but got flipped at the bottom and had to roll up one last time. I have a series of 23 photos of his run thru the rapid.

The boat that ran the meat of Crystal came down from at least Powerline without anybody in it. That was the first of TWO boats I saw run Crystal empty. About two minutes before the boat came down, I saw what I thought was a branch come down, but when it was closer, I saw that it was a paddle. I started to scrach my head wondering where it came from when I saw the boat.

Patrick

If im not mistaken, I think that's Stephen Reble from the Toronto area.. he first taught me the fundamentals of whitewater strokes in my Maxim (yeah, nice learner boat!) 2 yrs ago. I remember i flipped six times doing offside strokes in that thing ... in the lower humber river :-X

If you could post all of those photos, I'd be interested to see them! :-)
