Are you sure you aren't just messing with us? Those guys are flipping and hitting rocks, that's why they're going so slow in the time period you gave us to look. And they're not doing any forward strokes, just braces.

No my boat does tend to go faster unless I am dragging the bottom. I have seen other video where they seem to be going slower. When I get in a chute like that it feels like I was shot out a cannon If I could slow down a little I would not bounce off the next rock :D

But I did get a lot of good information because on open water I am going pretty fast and I want to slow down there also but this is what I was really interested in

Eggsackly... j just drive through your line, yes it will be seem youre going fast, and you are, to a place you have chosen e.g. an eddy. Youll carve in, using your speed to turn you.
These vid boaters are floatin, at the mercy of what tiny current is there. why they crash and flip.

Crazy thing is nearly everyone talking about speed, which the 16 has in spades. Speed and edges allow it spin, turn and eddy, better than short boat.
Think of it comparing a go cart to a Lambo. Go cart turns real well, but add horspower to go cart-like handling and you have a somthin that really cooks - go cart = short boat. Lambo = longboat -
Anywhere the longboat can go, its better than a shortboat, Thats why i take it up to classs iv, and just keep trying to push the boat, it can handle drops, and I've punched holes that have surfd and swam yakers. But youve got to drive it at all times, you cannot just float a longboat

Do any of you still use a "back ferry"? It's not something you see done very often any more... but I can recall doing a few over the years.
All the time. It's a necessity in this boat:
